NForce3 M/B where I confirmed with an earlier post I will lose microphone if I connect the X-530s to it. So, would the Audigy 2 Value edition be a good match to these speakers? It looks like I will still have microphone in with the 3 outs .

There were some awesome deals about a week or two ago where you could get an Audigy2 zs for around $40 after rebate. If you could find a deal like that, it would be an even better choice.

Otherwise A2 value is a good choice.

Looking at the components, the A2 value is a pretty nice card. I don't own one but I think it should sound as good as any A2. One advantage of the A2 value is that it can do bit bit-perfect output in the settings without alot of fiddling around, I'm not sure if its thru analog or spdif.

I think bit-perfect is pretty much an spdif thing.

One thing I know the higher A2s do that the value doesn't is surround stereo is a surround option (in addition to CMSS etc).

This would be useful if you want music to be coming out of all the speakers, but really you just want plain stereo anyway which any card can do.

For stereo surround, there are plenty of freeware drivers available online. You can also purchase the ZS model install CD from Creative on the cheap I'd imagine.

I didn't konw that would work.

So installing zs drivers on a value card will get you stereo surround is what you're saying?

C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy2\Program\WDM\COMMON\Ctpanel.exe

Will give you an option to set stereo surround on all Audigy 2 cards (if you have downloaded lastest drivers).

The entire audigy line uses the same microprocessor, just like video cards in a line share the same archetecture. Drivers that improve one will improve the other.
