Audigy 2 Retail $79 after $50 Instant Rebate @ CompUSA

Buy it at Best Buy for the exact same price and don't have to worry about a 15% restocking fee if you have problems. Better yet go to Circuit City and Pricematch and get it for $74 like I did.

Where were you when we needed you?

And for a few more bucks you can get the Platinum Edition with the cool control panel gadget for $129 @ Best Buy. You can price match it around and get it for $120. Was $199+, so not a bad deal at all 🙂

Thats what I upgraded from one one of my computers. I bought a Platinum for one computer and a regular Audigy 2 for the other. So far both work fine!

Great deal bump! Maybe it's time to upgrade my Live! value.

great soundcard, i have it with the creative 6.1 set.
paid around the same price for the oem a couple months ago.

"is this better than my current Santa Cruz, or should i bite the bullet and get ehe Platinum for 130?"
i only have audigys (from od), but i don't think it's that much better -- but i haven't had any speakers hooked up either
mr. burns regularly champions these cards, so maybe he can post some comparisons
*disclaimer* in any of my systems i rarely notice any sort of improvement (edit: when i upgrade)
this is a great deal for anyone looking to buy a soundcard though!

If you purchased the Audigy 2 from Best Buy a few weeks ago when they had the Audigy 2 for $129.99 - $50MIR ( MIR was to Creative NOT BB, BTW ), head on back to Best Buy and price match to the BB Web Site. I did today... Great Deal IF your lucky... $129.99 - $50MIR - $50PM=29.99 + Tax

All of my local CompUSA and Best Buy are out of stock but Fry's has it for $129.99 with a $50 mail in rebate, but they did not have the rebate form there, does anyone have one that can email me with an attachment?
Thanks.

Looks like you paid $129 for it then. I can't find any rebates for it from Outpost site and if it did not print at the register I doubt you will find it.

Well I went out and bought one of these today.

Run, do not walk back to the store and demand your money back. This card sounds like ass. Not regular ass, but unwashed, stinky ass. I am going to buy a m-audio revolution in hopes that it washes the stank out of my ears.

Garbage.

With ANY audio product this is completely a matter of opinion. I actually know people who turn the Bass and Treble controls ALL-THE-WAY-UP on any stereo they listen too. Toms Hardware JUST did a review HERE of some High End audio cards and the Audigy 2 did very well even though it wasn't the highest rated. One of the advantages of the Creative cards is good drivers (With Audigy 2) good compatibility, lots of flexibility and very good gaming sound. I just bought a a Audigy 2 and a Audigy 2 Platinum and I'm pretty impressed, especially with all the I/O ports with the Platinum. You are entitled to your opinion even though it added absolutely NOTHING to the thread. Hope you enjoy your M-Audio revolution, but you will soon find out that no sound card has it all!

It added everything to this thread- it helped guide those looking for a *quality* card to look elsewhere. I got the revolution, and the difference isn't subtle, it's severe. Like hamburger vs Filet Mignon, Like Rosanne Barr vs Charlize Theron. I have nothing against Creative's product but what good are all the features when the output quality is poor?

I've owned them all- hercules Game Theatre, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, Audigy 2, M audio revolution. And I put the Audigy on the bottom of the pile. Spend an extra $20 and get something your ears won't hate you for.
