audigy 2.. popping sound in some games

audigy in pci slot 3

In some games.. I get a wierd popping noise. I have checked under hardware settings and my audigy 2 is on irq 18 with nothing else being shared.

I do not happen to have an option for pci latency so I can't bump it to 64.

I have tried lowering dx acceleration to standard and that works, but then I cannot use EAX.. and whats the point of having an audigy 2 at that point.

Anyone know of a fix that can work?
