Audigy 2 & Old Dos game - no music

Hi all,

I have an Audigy 2 and Windows XP.

Is there some way I can enable some type of legacy audio mode so that I can run a DOS based game in Windows XP and have music?

The sound plays fine. (I set it to sound blaster compatible) The music is set the same way, yet no music plays.

Thanks for any help!

I know there are a couple programs out there that do things like that, I think one is called DOSBox, and the other VDMSound, although I'm not sure on either of them.

Can't speak for XP but in Win98 the Sound Blaster mode needs IRQ 7 or lower to function. Might try moving your card to a different PCI slot.

this will not work under XP, since XP enumerates it's IRQ's on it's own, and generally does not care where it's put in the slots.
