Hi all! I have an Inspiron 8200 and a very basic external soundcard (2.1 channels). recently I have started watching more movies, playing more games and lots of music work. I am going to get a basic analog 5.1 system anyways and need a soundcard to drive them. As I said, more games then not support Dolby surround and such as well as movies. I would definitley like Dolby decoding capabilities. I have super sensitive ears so I notice the smallest increase in quality. I would assume that an upgrade like this would be like night and day? Oh, yeah I am thinking of getting into DVD audio which definitley needs a newer soundcard. What do you guys think? is it worth the money? If it isn't what is a good alternitive?

Thanks

P.S- Sorry for multiple posts, I must have posted it in the worng place first.

i dont have experience with the external version, but i can guarentee you a dedicated sound card is night and day.
with a laptops, anything is an improvement, especially if you are going to drive a 5.1 speaker setup.

anyways lot of people run the audigy 2 sound card including me, so i think would be a good choice. i also run m-audio sound card in my other pc which is geared more to audio ethusiast.

not sure whats the price diff between the nx and zs, but it seems like the zs does dts also. but i like how the nx has a remote.

Okay, thanks. I know I don't need to really bring this sound card aywhere so external would me fine. I know the ZS is THX certified but that's not very important for me.
