Audigy 2 NX USB

Why would creative Labs make a sound card not compatible with a Celeron processor?
I ordered the Audigy 2 NX USB card from CompUSA that is in route just to find this out;
The Audigy 2 NX USB card needs a Genuine Intel® Pentium® III 500MHz,
AMD® K7 600MHz or faster processor. So if it is just a celeron
processor, the Audigy 2 NX will not work on that system. CRY!!!!!!
Whats the big difference & Why is this sound card so picky??

Coming from the guy with Seagate 15.3k SCSI drives and a T40P laptop. 🙂 It's not so easy for all of us.

On a more serious note why can't you just get a PCI version?

I would think it would work as it does say, "or faster processor".

I just think they were too lazy to list out all the different CPUs out there.

No, I got it straight from Creative Labs Support. I wrote them before I ordered but never got a reply until now. I ordered early for the 10% off and 50.00 rebate making it only 73.00 only to have the headache in getting it returned on time. They said it wouldn't work on a Celeron period... So I should never go with anything USB until I can upgrade my processor?

You'll be fine, christ. I must admit, you have low common sense for a newbie.

lol well they are uh retards.... lol it dont make any difference, if it's an slow chip it might not work real well though, but there isnt anything different from a Celeron series basic design from the P3 and P4, mainly the FSB and cache were changed, although making it much slower, it's the same chip design. According to those specs P4's, Athlon 64's, will all not work either....

I did think it would work on my Celeron 1.1gig when I ordered it, but if you got this e-mail, what would you think?

They're retards. If you have a 1.1ghz celeron that's likely a .13u core which is exactly like the older coppermine P3s. Same cache. Same FSB. Everything the same. So by their logic, that wouldn't work with a 1Ghz coppermine P3.
Obviously that's crack. Ignore them. They're fscking stupid.
So are you for asking.
Sorry but it's true.
