Audigy 2 in Vista?

Hello all. I've been running Vista ultimate 32bit for a few days now, and i love it, but i haven't got any sound yet. I'm using an Audigy 2 but there are no drivers available for vista yet. I seem to remember that there were some before, but that they expired. Are Creative simply waiting for Vista to be fully and officially launched before releasing the driver? (although i notice there are still downloadable X-fi drivers, so that doesn't really make much sense).

Any way i can get around this? I think i'm ready to use Vista full time, but the lack of sound means i'm having to keep switching between it and XP...

Many thanks.

Ok thanks guys. Luckily, i remebered i had some USB plantronics headphones which i plugged in and they worked straight away. Better than nothing and will tide me over i suppose.

Typical Creative really. It's a shame cos the actual hardware that they make is pretty good (although more competition from someone else would help), yet they're hopeless with drivers.

You could also see if the KX project drivers work. Again they're for XP and haven't been updated since late 2004 but it could be worth a shot.

Actually their hardware isn't very good either, they're the only company I know of to consistently put out hardware that doesn't share IRQs properly like the PCI2.1 spec requires. I can't even put my SBLive in my current machine because it causes a different problem in every slot.

The drivers I have are supposed to expire tomorrow. Why the hell do drivers expire?

I'm going to give kX drivers a try.

snow patrol I saw your thread over at OCuk ,not seen you for awhile on AT, I remember the good old days 😉.

Funny, I thought you had to provide adequate support at some point before you can start providing superior support...

Hehe..I think most of us will just settle for a driver that works for the official release,or is that asking for too much 😉.

Considering that I can't get my SBLive to work in these standard PCI slots, yea I'd say that's asking too much.
