Audigy 2 drivers won't install

OK, so I haven't owned a Creative soundcard since they moved to PCI, but I was fed up with the garbage onboard sound on my motherboard so I picked up an Audigy 2 for cheap on ebay (reputable seller, pretty sure the board itself is fine.)

So am I retarded or how the hell do you install the drivers if you don't have the original CD? I've installed drivers from dozens of vendors hundreds or thousands of times, and I've never had this much trouble. First, just about everything on creative's site is an update and not a full package. None of them will install because they don't detect the card because it has no drivers. I manually extracted a few of the drivers from their site and eventually got the drivers in the wdm folder to take, so now I get sound. I still can't get any of the actual installers to run, I have no control panel for the audigy, I can't install EAX drivers... So I'm stuck in this stupid loop of the drivers refusing to install because they don't recognize that the audigy is there because the drivers won't install. So irritating. Anyone got an idea?

If that's true, it's probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I got the card in a static bag with an old cd audio cable and nothing else, so that just means I'm screwed. There has got to be some kind of work around because I'm sure a million people before me have lost an original driver cd.

Matt PM me your address if your that desperate I'll burn the disks for you ...YPS + handling costs. I have the Platinum which should work for you...

Edit=Also you can Try This

It's got a firewire port, I looked at the picture on creative's site and the value card doesn't seem to have one. It certainly was not sold as a value version. The basic wdm driver I got to install says it's a b400 model, but all i have at this point it the standard volume adjustment and nothing else - no creative control panel and no eax.

Thanks for all your help, I've gotten it working more or less now. I also actually found a cd image of the install disc on emule, so when that finishes (in like a week) I won't have to deal with this BS again., but for now I have the card working more or less OK. Thanks again.
