Audigy 2 Connectivity???

Hey guys,
I was wondering if it was possible to connect the firewire port on a case to the internal firewire header on an audigy 2? Does anyone know the pinout? Also, is it possible to connect a mic and headphone port to it as well?

Yes, the pin-outs on the top of the card are all industry standard, but 2 things to watch out for:

1) Many cases do not have the actual pin-headers, they use cheap pass through cables that route through the back outputs of the card.

2) I believe you lose the functionality of the back headers when you route them from the internal pin-headers. not so significant with mic and headphone, but can be if you are expecting 2 firewire connections.

Ok, so the pinout of the firewire header on the audigy 2 is (starting from the top right pin and going clockwise) TPA-, GND, TPB-, +12v, GND, NO PIN, +12v, TPB+, GND, TPA+? And where are the connectors for the mic and headphones?

Actually, you don't, at least not in the case of the Audigy 2 Platinum which I own. The Audigy 2 drive in the front has a Firewire port, and that port connects to the card via the top connector, not the "IDE-ribbon" that the rest of the front connectors use. The A2P spec according to Creative's site is to have two distinct active Firewire ports for this reason. Since the PCI card itself isn't any different between the two products, I'd assume that the standard Audigy 2 also does not disable the back port if you attach a front port to the internal connector either.

Note the first thing in connectivity mentions that the Platinum has two ports.
