Audigy 1 owners and drivers question

I would think it would be correct to uninstall the old driver e10kx2k dated 2001 before installing the new driver found on creatives website dated nov 2003. I emailed them and got a response saying "don't uninstal old drivers, install new drivers on the old ones"

This seems odd to me as I only have experience updating video card drivers and I always uninstall first. Just wondering how owners of the audigy1 have gone about updating drivers.

I know what you are saying but thats the way creative does it. It uninstalls the old one before installing new driver so no worry.
