I was an original SBLive user and liked that card alot until i bought a KT-133a mobo. I then went to the Santa Cruz which served me well and was a great card with good software. I just upgraded to a system based on the Epox 8kha+ (using WinXP) and purchased an OEM Audigy. All I can say is that I am totally blown away with the Audigy's sound...it is phenomenal in games, music, etc....! I can't see that I'll need any future driver updates for this card as it is working perfectly in XP (so far that is!). No brand loyalty here...I just want the best there is!

I agree completely, but I upgraded from an MX300 to the Audigy about a month ago and the difference is surprising to my ears. 3D positioning in the EAX with the Audigy sounds similar to A3D, so I think Creative "borrowed" from A3D after they bought Aureal. No complaints here though, 'cause A3D always caused major slowdowns, and it was very buggy (sometimes channels would flip and it was nerveracking during intense games) whereas EAX barely costs any performance. Not to mention the quality hike in the midrange frequencies for music is a definite plus. I'd say it was the best $62 I've spent in a long time.

I have to say that I love my audigy. I thought that the on board C-media dolby digital controller built into my Soyo Dragon was pretty nice()Its actually quite good for integrated sound), but the Audigy sounds amazingly better. Very clean output, good midrange, and manages to even use the center channel correctly under XP, which my old controller wouldn't.
