Audible drm removal

I have a Sandisk Sansa and I can't get my Audible files on there without removing the drm. Is there a way to do this in OS X?

Can you not just burn them to a CD then rip it?

I'm not sure about free solutions but a couple of payware ones popped up. Macsome iTunes Music Converter is one.

Oh I could rip it, but who wants to burn 12 cd's per book?

I think that part of the iTunes license agreement (assuming you bought them from there) is that they can only be played on iTunes/iPods.

However, what would be useful (anyone want tell me if this exists) is if you could trick iTunes into using a Virtual CD Burner and just 'burn' ISOs of the playlists.

There's a program I found called Noteburner that does just that. Payware though. Maybe somebody knows of a freeware alternative.

There is a free trial for that, see if that works for you OP. Or, if it isn't too expensive (I didn't look at the price since I am at work), then maybe buy it. This is possibly going to come up again.

There is another similar program called hxmusicconverter that does just that. But it is payware. FYI, I got the audiobook from Audible.
