audi Q3 concept

we've been looking for a new crossover and ive been eyeing the audi q5 as well as some of the others... not really sure what to go for but were looking to buy come the new year
 
The proportions are really odd on the front. The grills are massive and the headlights are tiny. Looks like a slightly larger version of the A3.
 
I don't get it. My take is the Q5 is already about the same size as the X3/RDX yet the article states this is meant to compete against the X1/RDX? This is retarded. They take existing models, make them larger because the market demands it, then add another model smaller than the original?

Seems to me this Q3 and X1 are meant to be about the size of a Mini Countryman. Thoughts? And yes, the styling is a bit cartoon-ish/caricature-ish.
