how much difference is there btwn the 1.8T and the 3.0?
anybody own one?
good idea? bad idea?

My girlfriend has one. Don't know about the V6 but the 1.8T is quite adequate. You won't win any drag race with this one although it certainly has enough punch to merge into traffic with ease. One caveat, the routine maintenance will put a dent in your pocket. Other than that it's been trouble free (76K miles and counting). One more thing. The 1.8T required premium gas. Here in CA that's 25 cents more per gallon.

I liked the 3.0 better, but the turbo was not bad. Why don't you go for a test drive like I did, and see for yourself?
