Alright, I am putting together a bastard system made of parts from other machines. Much of the hardware is very compatible with each other with the exception of the PSU I have.

The MOBO requires a 20-pin connection and the MOBO CPU requires a P4 4-pin connection.

Well, my PSU is 24-pin and have a PCI 6-pin. I've read that one can flip around the PCI 6-pin and trim it slightly with an exacto blade to power the CPU MOBO interface. This would put the power side on the correct alignment of the PCI to the P4 4-pin. Also, there is a way to use a 24-pin to 20-pin adapter for the larger interface?

So, has anyone attempted anything like this before? :whiste:

i dont understand, how did you find a psu that has PCIe power but not a 4 pin CPU power connector. Also every 24 pin ATX connector i have seen has a break off 4 pin section so you can use it with a older 20 pin mobo.
