ATX power switch

Per phone conversation, my bud is trying to put a 300w ATX power supply inside a used Full Tower AT Case.
Mobo is a Soyo-5EHM (super 7) supports both AT & ATX power connectors.

Problem lies in that a "momentary switch type" is used for atx. This case has standard on off.
Told him connecting the header leads (pins) on the MoBo did not sound like a good idea, just like on/off switch & what is the purpose on a momentary switch anyway?. Any way to jury rig this? Will jumping the pins do any damage?

Should be able to fake it with a quick on/off cycle using the AT switch, I'm not sure that the leads should be left connected...

Suggest that you use a momentary push button switch which can be purchased at the local Radio Shack. Just look for a convenient place on the case to drill a mounting hole for the switch.
