ATX power supply / front panel connector problem

Here's my problem, I have a motherboard (fic 503) which has atx and at power supply connectors. My case has an ATX power supply and an 18 pin header that comes from the front bezel of the case for the switches, leds, etc. My mobo doesn't have a connector for the 18 pin header which is actually only on some of intel's server level mobos. Is there some kinda adapter I can buy?

If i plug in the atx power supply into my motherboard and don't use the front bezel connectors (b/c they don't fit) how can I power up and down my computer?

I was thinking of just installing a small pushbutton switch switch which will close the ciruit for the power on pins which should do the trick right? What kinda switch is needed? (Push - close circuit contiuously) or (push - close circuit then open right away)

Thanks guys.
