How big of a case do you want to go with? Expansion slots are one thing...the other thing is heat dissipation. A larger case allows for more cooling capacity...which would allow for ATX and you'd get more slots.
If you don't want a big case and don't care about cooling as much, just make sure you have the right kinds of slots to include the peripherals you need and order. One some of the older mobos I bought, some had shared slots where only one out of two were usable. I'm not sure if they sell a lot of boards like that anymore, but it pays to read all the notes and asterisks in the documentation prior to buying.
