Im gonna upgrade my kids box but I dont know how to tell if the box he has will use atx or micro atx mobo.. He has a 333 penium in it now and I was thinkin bout an ecs-k7sem mobo w/950 duron just to keep it simple but dont know if it will work in his case.. Any way to tell just by lookin?? Have no clue as to what Mobo is in it now. Thanks in advance for any advice.......Gary

ATX case typicallys has 7 expansion slots in the back of the case. A micro ATX case will hae only 4 expansion lots in the back of the case.
 
so if u put a micro atx mobo in an atx case it will only be able to use the top 4 expansion slots in the case?? But there wont be any problem w/ mobo mounting to the case??
 
Yes, mATX should work fine in a full-size case, just not the other way around (though a thread here claimed someone tried to make it work by sawing off the last 3 PCI slots 🙂 )
