ATX case to board connectors

Hi,

I noticed that many previous ATX cases contained a single rectangular connector with one missing pin that would connect to standard ATX boards. This connection is like this on many boards that I have seen, except the EPoX 8KHA+, the board I want to get. The 8KHA+ contains two rows of connectors for various things like power, speaker, reset, HDD LED, etc. Since my case uses the previous singular rectangular case to board connector, I'm wondering if the 8KHA+ will work in my system, or if I will need a new case. My case only provides a power button (no reset button) and a LED to show that the system is on.

Do I need to get a new case in order to use the 8KHA+ or can my current rectangular connector still work? Thanks for helping me out!

if your case is ATX it should have all the connectors needed..... but if they skimped on the friggin case switches/leds then it prolly has a power supply of somewhat questionable quality.

time to get yourself a nice antec, any quality case with an AMD recommended 300 watter.

My case is actually a Gateway easy access midtower case! I like it so much because it is 100% tool free: I can open the case, install PCI/AGP cards, install drives, switch PSU, switch mobos all without a single screwdriver. The odd thing is that my old Pentium-MMX board, my current K7T Pro, and a GA-7DX I saw all use the rectangular connector while the 8KHA+ uses many connectors. If my connector fits the 8KHA+, I'm off to get one. If not, I may have to get an Enlight case, but that case is lacking in some regards: you need a screwdriver to replace drives and it has no front USB. I hope to get a new PSU for my case to replace the Astec 250 watt.
