RemyCanad,

You can enter late if you need to. (Most of the prizes are awarded by blind draw among finishers anyway.)

The requirements to be elegible for prizes are that you crunch a minimum of 75 days (the 45 was a typo) and be active at the end of the race.

The one kicker is that you cannot go without producing for more than 72 hours once you do begin.

Now do I have to keep up the same production level? I am keep one computer on it all the time but keeping the minifleet would not be possible....

The one thing that is holding me back is no mac client... Now here is a question for your. Doesn't DF run like Eccp in that you don't have to download anything? I could put it on a machine that would not have an internet connection all the time. But to be in the race I would have to output results on a regular basis right?

Ok, if I miss one, let me know.

You don't have to have constant production levels. It's just that if a Dump is too big, those folds won't count for your ATWE total folds (The DF project still gets them though)

I'm pretty sure most of us who do dumps will get a speeding ticket or two. No biggie 😀

Yes, you can let folds accumulate as long as you want and then move the files to another machine that does have internet access to upload them. However, if you notice a protien change (the next one is in mid-December) be sure to get your folds dumped or they will expire. (I think it is a week, but I don't know for sure)

As long as your production doesn't go to zero for more than 72 hours (at a time) you will be not be disqualified. However, the speeding ticket rule will apply and your dump may not count for your score (but it DOES count as non-zero production to keep you active)

remember, speeding tickets or not, most of the prizes are for finishers so unless you go down for 3 days in a row.... you're fine!

It is just an equalizer to help everyone be competative. (Corporates are pretty untouchable without something like this)

In the White Elephant thread (see my sig) it tells you what "too big" is defined to be.

If you really put some numbers in, you will see it is quite forgiving. 🙂

to bob970.... You're in buddy.... Thanks!

Yes, that's right. I'm in...

Fear me! I was part of the *winning* Latecomers team in the past SETI mini-team competition. 😀 😉

Is it alright if I decide to join next week? Alot of this depends on if D2OL is back to normal and if I find SOB to be fun enough for me to run it on all my machine.

I'd join up if it wasn't for that 72 hour rule. 🙁 I'm moving in jan and I will likely be without my beloved internet for a week or so.

That is a bummer. We have to do the idle rule though or else we'll have "corporates" we never heard of comming in for a couple days, smoke us all and then leaving.. that would suk!

maybe you could give someone your handle and talk them into crunching for a week or so while you get settled in?

(Wait, I wrote the rules..... so now I'm teaching people how to skirt them? LOL 🙂 )
