I have a wireless network from my main building which I want to broadcast to another building. It is not possible for me to upgrade the broadcasting equipment from the main building. Is there equipment that can essentially allow me to grab the signal from the main building that would be installed at the second location? The signal is only about 25-30 yards short, with very slight interference between the two locations.

Yes and No.

Yes, if it can be configured to Client Mode.

No, very few Routers can be configured to client mode.

So, if you have a spare Routes check if your can be configured as a client.

Otherwise, buy an Access Point or a Router that can do Client.

Would it be possible to add an antenna directly to a wireless card on my laptop?
For example, having said hi-gain directional antenna connected via cabling directly to a wireless card?

If the card has an Antenna jack, it is possible (sadly, most cards do not have such a jack).
