where are the free parking around the campus on saturdays? we are dropping our sister off to UT tomm and we would like to know ahead where free parkings are avai on weekends. are they free even ? or they charge? she has a dorm there so i am assuming she wont have to pay for parking around her dorm lot?
 
there is very little free parking and by very little I mean almost none. The only option is the small lots littered near the engineering buildings.



With a dorm there she will need to buy a parking pass if she wants to park a car there.



which dorm is it ? that helps a bit.
 
LOL, good luck man! I don't have suggestions, but parking sucks donkey nuts at UT. I'm moving into my apartment tomorrow in Austin, but there will be plenty of parking for me. :beer:
 
kinsolbing is the name of the dorms

so can we park by some area near UT or outside UT where we can park our cars and catch a UT bus?

any sugg what we could do? she doesnt have a pass cuz she wont be driving a car there next yr. we are going to be moving her stuff in to the dorm. and then take a tour of the university

during official dorm movein, they will allow you to park in front of kinsolving no problem.

kingsolving is on 26th and whitis. they will most likely allow you to park on whitis for 2 hour blocks.

don't worry about move in.

I thought she had a car that she wanted to park for the school year.

so yea we went there sat. and i was amazed by the site n scene. it was my first visit to UT and it real good experience. makes me think about going there next fall.
