Good. You should be fit enough to race with me in a couple weeks then. :D
You only do roads though, right? That 90 miles was all trails.
8000 feet of climbing too? :Q

Fausto, you ever had trouble with your little friend "standing to attention"? The reason I ask is because there was a medical study in an issue of Cycling (or Bicycling) magazine (they keep sending them to my fricking house argh) that said there was some evidence that biking can lead to ED. It was in the issue that talked about sex, had some hottie on the cover. Only issue I've read that I didn't throw out, lol. Well wanted to know if you've heard anything on this, or read that issue (it was about 6-1 year ago).

I'm going to haul your Spandexed (R) ass up here and make you hit the cross-country trails. You up for the all trails (36km) in a day challenge? :D

If you have a hard bike seat that pinches the scrotal nerves, maybe. :p

What's that smell here?! Oh yeah, BS.
Don't tell me you did 90 miles on MTB trails in 3.5 hours.

I read it and have read the other stuff on the ED thing.

Honestly, as long as your bike fits correctly and you have a seat that suits your ass, you really shouldn't have problems. Some people like the saddles with the anatomic grooves, some don't (I'm the latter). I've been racing for going on 15 years now and my wang works just fine.

Good to hear your soldier is still packing heat. I usually hit up the recumbent bike 5 nights a week, 1/2 - 1 hour a night. Might get into competitive but probably am too muscular (heavy) at 190 lbs to win anything.

Uh...no you're not. I'm 185 right now and have been the top finisher for most races on my team thus far. The road race I did March 5th had like 6,000 feet of climbing in it and I finished 13th. :)

I used to bike a lot but I'm far out of shape now.

I always hated biking uphill. And ever since an accident caused by a faulty gear system that resulted in some horrible bike rash and bruises, I've been afraid to shift while standing on the pedals.

They're cute and I like 'em, but I really do need to get rid of a lot of stuff (I have to clear out the garage where most of the movie lights, stands, and stuff are stored--and that all has to go *somewhere*), so, yeah, I'd be interested in selling them.

It'll take me a moment to find 'em. I think they're in a box that I'll need to get a ladder to reach. I can take a picture to make sure it's what you're looking for. (Sorry for the slow response; it's been nonstop phone calls out here for what seems like the last couple of hours.)

I guess. :) Looks like I've been missing lots of fun while I've been busy dealing with daily life; I'll have to go read that other thread, too, and see what else I've been missing.

It was right where I thought it was. It's a front-wheel Spinergy X clincher; is that what you were looking for? Here's a small (600px) picture and here's a bigger (1800px) version

It feels like it's a fair bit lighter than the trispokes; I think it would be a better choice for a TT bike anyway.

Perfect. I actually already have a rear trispoke (just needs some fixing) so I was looking for just a front. Whatcha want for it?

Now I've just got to figure out an effective way to annoy Fausto.
Calling cyclists "fags" is a decent start. You could also extoll the virtues of the neoconservative movement. :p

What you hot dog-hiding, spandex-laden leftists don't understand is that if you're not fer America, you're agin it!

Are you looking to bring back the mid-nineties through your wheel choices? Damn you - Lance might get cancer again!

I'm trying to build the TT bike as cheaply as possible. So far I've spent:

$2- fork + headset
$30- stem
$20- tires
$30- cowhorn bar

I think I have pretty much everything else I need lying around save the front wheel. :D

I hate pissing on anyones parade but I'd stay clear of those rims. They are prone to crack and I think Spinergy stopped making them for that reason.

If I'm wrong I apologize. My biker friend told me about them some time ago. He picked up a set from a bikeswap for $75.
<--- backs out of thread.

Here's one that went for $190 plus shipping on Ebay, and it looks like that's on the high side for these things, so how about $150 and I'll cover shipping? (FedEx ground; if you want it overnight, that'll be extra.)

How long does that take?

Most of the day, maybe 9 to 9-1/2 hours; could be longer if I'm getting really tired and slow towards the end. I've never done 150 without a break in the middle somewhere. Usually I'll do more than half that distance and then get back home to shower, snack, change to a pair of underwear with creases in different places, and then do the rest.

Longest I ever went without stopping or getting off the bike was 110 miles, and I've only done that once.

And that's all on bike trails with minimal hills. There's a trail out here called the Platte River Greenway that runs alongside the Platte river and goes from close to where I am (southwest of Denver), through the city, and well off to the northeast of Denver and you only have to cross two streets in that distance. Most of the long rides I've done have been on that and the other trails and (sometimes) good biking streets that connect to it.

he has his own FAQ too, and it's actually useful.
How do you pronounce "Trygve"

It's sorta like "TREEG-vah" except that the 'EE' is between a long e and a short i.
