I'm considering getting a P4B533 ever since two methods of obtaining the >133FSB 3:4 ratio are now known:
#1: Flipping dipswitch#6,1:1 BIOS ratio,and using moderate memory settings@>133fsb.Or...
#2: Set dipswitches to 100Mhz@unjumpered mode.Set BIOS to 70/35 AGP/PCI,1:1 ratio,>133fsb.
I want to get a P4B533 and come next month's price drops, a 2.66b.
Which of the two methods do you consider to be superior? Are there any significant drawbacks to either?
Much thanks for your contributions to overclocking...Mark

I have the P4B533 and I used method #1,jumper free mode.Never tried #2,if it was better we would have heard about it and I have read through the forums regularly.I haven't read anything on #2 to tell you the truth.I run my AGP\PCI 66.66\33.33 thats spec. Some guys have it on auto. The 2.66 is the new CPU along with the 2.8.You would probably want the 2.26a or the 2.53.They will be cut in price a fair bit. Thugs can give you a better answer as he knows more about it than me.He's played with it quite a bit.Thugs hangs out in the overclocking forum so you will have better luck finding him there.
