I propose a TF2 Republican vs Democrat match, red vs blue. Maybe Monday night(?)
Team Fortress 2 is free and its pretty balanced even for new players its also an old game so it should run on just about anything.
I'm willing to rent a server if there is enough interest.
Basic rules:
I need a solid commitment that you're onboard
No P&N talk in game, gentle ribbing will be acceptable
if for some unexpected reason this is popular US voters get in first
Teams may need balancing. No 16 vs Speedy matches.
Ideally change you steam (game) name to your forum name or very close to it. Steam allows changes.
Lets have some fun with this and try to mend some bridges

Who is interested?

I'm in.
I haven't played TF2 in ages, but used to be a junkie and, coincidentally, have been wanting to play again.
AT and Steam name virtually identical.

I would love to, but right now I am crushed at work. Doing 60 hour weeks, so I will have to say no. If it was 3 or 4 weeks from now it'd be different.

I voted "yes" but at the same time, I'm not sure exactly how much time I can commit to it. Real life is busy - especially this time of year. But I certainly would jump on the server when I could. More so on the weekends.

Would Sunday evening be more accessible? Its TWD night.

There's no real "best time" for me. Sunday nights are generally good -- except when their not :) I don't really want to promise anything and then not deliver (like a candidate running for office!) Just a crazy time of year for me and my family as my wife's business is crazy before the holidays.

Sure, but is TF2 the only option?

Fistful of Frags is a very good free game.

I think the problem is going to be we're going to get A LOT more on the blue team than the read.

Wish TF2 was like the old Doom/Quake days and you could skin the characters and replace sound effects with simple mods.
There's so many Trump quotes that would apply...

So virtually killing your opposition and picking sides over political beliefs, when it's basically settled science that video game violence promotes actual violence, is a GREAT IDEA!

Couple this with the who would win in a political civil war thread, it develops a worrying trend of violence.

Man that sounds fun. I haven't played in awhile.

But I'm not able to participate. Four children make video games a very rare treat. And anyway, all I'd do is bring down the republicans as all I'm any good at is medic.

Hey the Medic is a key role, especially when teamed with a Heavy.

It is FAR from settled science. You can find countless articles supporting both ends of the spectrum .

lol. Settled science my ass. Some science says it makes us less violent because it satiates our violent tendencies.

You'd probably be the only red medic, considering republicans don't like giving people in need aid. /s ;)
