I just got myself a 64MB VIVO version and was reading about it at rage3d when I found this article about tweaking:

Now before I go ahead and do anything, I wanted to ask here if anyone has used those tweaks and if they really increased performance. I'm really curious about the section "advanced windows tweaking" as I have never heard of those before.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Most of the above can be set via the normal display driver. Its just easier to show it it a list this way.
 
Well this advanced window tweaks are quite common know and i use them all.

For some real Radeon Tweaks get one of the tweakers, This one has a good explanation of what all the regsettings do.

Man oldfart, I am glad to see at least one of my customers still have their radeon!!! Everyone else seems to be selling them. =)
 
The advanced Windows tweaks are rather rudimentary and will make some difference. Please post your specs. The "tweakers" typically will do more harm than good. The reg settings Oldfart posted are the correct ones. I've been running that list after many months of playing with different reg keys and those settings are the best combo I came up with. Yes the tweaks are worth it for more speed and better visuals.Also disable ATIPOLAB from the startup menu in msconfig and rename or delete ATIGART.EXE.

I've added the registry tweaks you've suggested and it increased my 3DMarks from 3931 to 5097. I've seen scores for similar setups reach almost 6000 so that's my goal. Taz4158, do you know any other tweaks for the Radeon or any other Windows tweaks that aren't too rudimentary that would be of benefit? Thanks.

Prophet: Holy crap, I didn't the tweaks give you that much performance!!! I've been running everything at default, and here I was thinking, 53 fps in UT 1600x1200 32 bit was fast...maybe I'll play with the settings later. Thanks.
 
I noticed, load the 3dmark profile from the RadeonTweaker and got a score off about 1000 points less then normal 😀

 
Yeah, someone who shall remain nameless edited a DLL and added EVERY key he could find, spent a LOT of time helping people out of that one.
