ATTN Photoshop gurus

Is it possible to take a pic of a red car, and make it black? Realistically looking as well...without painstaking work. I got someone who wants to see their car in another color, is there any quick way to make it look decent?

Its probably not a uniform color througout... light does that

Just desaturate the pic and then lower the brightness.

That should give you some kind of indication of what it would look like black.

magic wand selection -> carefully select the outline of the car -> Image -> Adjustments -> Replace color.

freely fool around with fuzziness (range of selection), hue, replacable color, etc..

Cool - thanks guys! The version of PSP being used is 6, so I'm not sure if the Replace Color feature is included, it doesn't appear to be under Image/Adjust. There is a Color/Adjust, but no Replace Color under that...
