Grab Any issue filled with "Gaming Goodness" new or old. FLip to the back inside page, should be a black bar along the seam. At the bottom there is a paragraph in small font. What issue do you have, and what does it say?

Feb 2001:

...it was a slap in the face. It chilled us to the bone. Despite sitting atop the pile, despite an unrivaled dominance, we heard that it had all been a lie. We'd focused on the game at hand. We'd prided ourselves in being one step ahead all the time. Then, it came down to our lives. It chilled us to our very souls. That's what they were getting at, that's what they were striving for. We'd missed the boat. Our path had taken us to the top, but we had to hear that we'd got it wrong. Oh the shame ... oh, the crap.

any one seen this? or is it me? I've checked back all 4 yrs of copies I had. I noticed these wierd paragraphs back a few yrs ago. None had linked story lines, till a few months agoe, where for a few months they focused on their hampster hammy.

some one else must have a copy kickin around , and see this, i tried asking pcgamer once, now all emails get bounced back . .

this one is on Dec 2000:

As Jeremy reached for Zomie Hammy, there was a loud blech....

too lazy to type the rest, indeed it is a story

yup, i have that in my december too, i think the story line went from like october or sept to january, now its off again

They've been doing this for a long time.....years maybe. It's like an inside joke, a story.

Next-Generation does this as well, and I think PCXL did also.

Kinda funny stuff =)

i miss PCXL, one of the only truly great gaming mags ever. PCXL had little tidbits on the outer margin of every page.
