Asus Nforce2 Delux
2100+ Tbred-B (0301)
HyperX 3500 (256x2)

Clock multis over 13 all work fine....but I want to run 10, 11 & 12....& higher FSB....but it won't.
Example system runs 100% stable @ 13x166, however 10x166 reboots the system. (over & over & over)

What am I doing wrong? Or do I need to connect an L3 Bridge?

any help/info reguarding this issue?

You are correct. I had the same problem with my 2100+ b. I just connected the last L3 with some defogger repair goop and now I have multis below 13 on my Asus.

By that rational, if I can only get access to multipliers 12.5 and below, I need to cut the last
L3 bridge on my Barton 2500+ in order to get access to multipliers 13 and up??

Let me know!
Thanks

thanks Toonces311, I'll connect that last L3 bridge & post the results. (Currently running 13X170, 100% stable, Seti & Prime confirmed)

I've had the same problem on my chip as well, but I didn't really want to underclock my CPU much more anyway. I have considered measuring the resistance across that bridge to see if it is connected. However, when measuring resistance with a Ohm-meter, a test voltage is applied and the current is measured. Does anyone know if it is safe to use an Ohm-meter for this?

Edit: According to my multimeter's manual, "The resistance measuring circuit in your meter compares the voltage gained through a known resistance (internal) with the voltage developed across an unknown resistance." The unit beeps if the circuit resistance is less than 50 ohms which means the circuit is shorted, so the internal resistance is probably around 50 ohms. It looks like the current will be small enough to not damage the CPU, but I still don't want to take the chance yet. Also, I'm to lazy to take the HSF off. Thanks. Peace.

You shouldn't have to do anything to that 2100+, what bios are you using?

1001.002 bios
or maybe its 1002.001...hmmm

whichever one is available, d/l and flash it to newer bios (its beta...but stable)
that one unlocks all mults
