The thing I found with Opera is that any of the links within Anandtech always open in a full page and not in a smaller box - member information, reading and replying to messages, etc.

Still like it though.

You probably have it set to open new tabs, or something.

Nope - I don't do tabs - just hate them.:)

In IE and Firefox you get a nice small box - always have. In Opera you get a full screen and the box has much of the link filled in with gray.

I've tried multiple settings in the past in Opera. I've always been onboard with Opera (I still have my paid code from Opera in 1998).

The ONLY way to make it work right is to edit site preferences->scripting->and check box for "allow script to hide address bar".

It's a PITA to have to do but it works. Why doesn't Opera do this by default? I love having choice but this is one of those things that will turn people off.

...okay, I'll step off my pedestal now.

im guessing opera does this by default because they expect you to use tabs,
in the SS i posted it opens in lil windows that are tabs

personally i HATE that in FF or IE it opens a new window and not a new tab

I just upgraded to Opera 9.22 and the speed increase is nice.

I was almost tempted to switch back to FF.
