Ken,
After reading your post in the Myka thread, I looked into the Popcorn A110 and read some reviews. It looks very interesting.

I currently use Hauppauge MVPs to stream Beyond TV recordings (uncontainerized MP2s) and an EVA 8000 to stream ripped DVDs and CDs to my upstairs TV/stereo.

The pluses for the EVA8000:
Easy navagation of movies (scrolling, but I only have about 100 titles & directory structures are recognized)
Easy navagation of audio files (same, scrolling)
Plays internet radio stations
Plays RSS feeds
Plays YouTube videos
Pulls weather info from the interent
Excellent video and audio via HDMI and stereo line outs (or digital pass-through to receiver)

EVA tech support is horrible, you go to the "beta" testers forum and root till you find solutions. On the other hand, you are talking to customers who know the subjects and for many months, netgear's programmer was active on the forum. Odd experence, but it was effective. Odd because unsuspecting customers walking into Circuit City and buying one were basically signing up for Netgear's beta test of the unit. Unsuspecting non-technical customers were in for a wild ride or just SOL.

The EVA 8000 is about $350.

With the interface you mentioned, it looks like it kicks bobo for $100 less than the EVA 8000.

What are your thoughts when comparing the two?
Do you have a link to the player software you mentioned? Is it a plugin/Skin running on the popcorn machine, or is it on the server?

I just picked up the A110 for a home media server. I really like the interface, virtually no set up required, playback is seemless after the initial buffer. Remote is a joke but who cares? IMO, I might consider the EVA 9000 if they were the same price, but the A110 gets the node every step of the way.
