now that i have your attention and you're properly enraged, yes, i know it's 'suppressor.' i don't call magazines clips, either. but i might if it pisses someone off.
anyway. went to range yesterday for the first real test of my buddies USP .45 tactical.
now with 100% more tactical in the form of a gemtech blackside. he actually used to carry this thing, so he had the tall sights swapped for standard night sights (holster issues from the tall front post).
so it's got no sights. fortunately, a) length the suppressor basically draws a nice horizonal plumb line towards what you want to die and b) he's got a nice light/laser unit on it. that was already an excellent gun, but using the laser with the can screwed on, holy shit. using a little muscle memory and the laser, you can shoot dead easy <6" groups at 10-15m or so. it's just cheating.
here's a vid of him firing it after we started making uneducated attempts at using it wet. gemtech says vaseline is fairly ideal, so far as grease mediums go. unfortuneately, he's a bit paranoid with his stuff and won't let me put water in it, which is supposed to be best.
gemtech is apparently also right that you should pack the first two rings with lube- no more, no less. less makes less suppression and it lasts less long, more doesn't seem to add any. he did threaten to punch me in the face if i shoved the whole thing in vaseline, but i did put a shitton in it right after this video. performance was similar. target got a little greasy.

now i'm trying to convince him to buy a carbon fiber suppressor for his .30-06.
