ATTN FAUSTO: better train hard - you have competition coming!

Now why in the heckedy heck does that bike need front wheel pegs?

Good question: answer = I have no idea! However, it came with them and my son wanted them on.

He was really doing great - pedaling along like a pro...... until the crash! I was snapping some pics when he went down a little (VERY gentle slope) downhill and coasted with a little speed. He took a hard left, shifted his weight, and boom - went down. I saw the left-side training wheel lifting and tried to run/dive to catch him - but I was too far away. It was a prenty gently fall (helmet hit ground luckily) and the only casualty was a scrape on his palm.

aftermath of "THE CRASH"
(fixed with a cool spiderman band-aid!)

Porblem is he is now scared to pedal on his own without one of us right next to him - but were working on that. I'm sure he'll be secure enough to "go it alone" in a few days.

They usually have kid's events at criteriums (basically a 300-meter dash to the line....everyone gets a medal/ribbon). Maybe he'd enjoy that when he's a bit more confident on the bike. 🙂

Ahh yeah, balance is crucial. Turning is not so much the turn of the wheel but the shift of the body. Try having him ride slowly in a small circle, he might get the "feel" of it faster.

I remember when my dad taught me... he was pushing me along, holding on and just letting me peddle. After about 30 feet I told him he could let go, and I look back to see he had let go about 20 feet back. I was ridin' 🙂

Now I miss riding my bike 🙁 Maybe I'll fix it up today. Great exercise.

Lets see... considering a weight to power ratio, i'm sure this kid could outrun fausto RIGHT NOW😛

Not sure about that - but I CAN say for certain there is no way his "ol' man" could! When it comes to biking,
Fausto > Scoobmaster! 😉

Now put us on an AUTO RACING track - and I'll kick his Butt!!! 🙂

Actually this is in an IBM parking lot 😉 Here is a picture that shows the IBM buildings in the background:

The blue building on the left is the old (about to be torn down) Endicott Forge. The buildings on the right are IBM
