I have passed the knowledge of where to find it to two people...now I must go to bed. Please spread the word in my absence, it'll make me jolly. Roger?

Meh, they've already burnt down his life and rebuilt it again... twice. This season is going to suck if it's all about his wife and kid. C'mon, bring back the monster we fell in love with.

Dexter has become too human. The first season was great, because he was a monster. The second season was great because he was a monster. The third season was still good, but the least enjoyable, personal opinion, because the writers and the script focused on the human changes within Dexter, especially relationships and trust (with Miguel Prado). It was well-done, and maybe even perhaps necessary to develop Dexter the way they wanted him, but that kind of drama isn't as good as the first two seasons of raw Dexter.

But honestly, you know what part I really dislike about Season 3? Rita. At first, Dexter and Rita were the perfect couple for the show, because Dexter was so robotic and awkward when they started dating, and so was Rita (abusive ex-husband, trust issues, tons of baggage, etc). It was great for the show. Now the actress that plays Rita got a huge boob job (ever notice how her chest expands tremendously since the show first aired?) and Rita has all of this attitude and personality that I really dislike. But Dexter is all fluffy and perfect boyfriend/fiance to Rita, instead he needed to stay cold and distant - you know, mysterious, like he was when the show began. There's one seen where he all but grovels and cleans up the kitchen while helping out with Rita's kids... all to make Rita happier. Bah... the guy's a serial killer that kills because he's so fucked up that if he doesn't kill, the Darkness will drive him out of control, and he's groveling to some hormonal bitch that he's now gotten pregnant? It's just crappy.

I'd get a kick out of the writers exploring Dexter's "Code" and what happens when it turns out to be wrong. So far he's bent "The Code" and found out that things don't work well when he does that, but it has never failed him. I want him to do something like make a kill, then find out he was incorrect about the person's guilt, or find out that his sister or family member (other than his brother? lol) has a murder in their past to really put The Code to the test.

Basically there's just so much good stuff they can do with the show, but I'm frustrated that a lot of S4 looks like it's going to deal with home life, his augmented-breast bitch of a wife, etc.

I think maybe she got something in addition to her boobs done, because she got ridiculously hot in season 3.

You probably won't enjoy season 4 then, although I am interested to see where they take it...

SPOILERS

In episode 1 Rita has already had the baby... won't say more.

I'm not too thrilled with the wife character either. She doesn't offer an edge like a frank burns - it's just mostly wasted scenes. I wonder if there are separate writers for the different characters.

Just wait. John Lithgow is going to murder Dexter's wife, then all hell is going to break loose.
