Tonight I am going to look at a new car to purchase...my 1984 prelude finally gave up the ghost at 290k miles..and it is just too expensive to fix it this time. I am going to look at a 1989 prelude S tonight and need to know what to look for. I have seen the exterior and the interior and both are in excellent condition. The person takes very good care of their stuff. Very little rust and the interior looks brand new. What should I look for mechanically?

I am getting a very good deal on it (about half of what Kelly Blue Book says), so I am very tempted here.

Thanks for anything you import techies can help me out!

Check for oil leaks, leaks around the head... listen for knocking... Check the brakes and tires... stuff like that.

You know anyone that works no cars or anything that could go with you ?

290k miles....WOW!

Too bad you didn't reach 300k...

So what are you going to do when you purchase a '89 Prelude? Out and drag race with your buddies?
