Take the keyboard plug out of the port and boot up. Tell me if it gives you an error or if it keeps on loading up.
 
What it does will depend on your BIOS settings. If you have it set to halt on all errors, it will not boot without an error message. Some other settings instruct the system to ignore a no keyboard situation and the system will continue to boot.
