I have a whitfield Advantage II-T WH-26912 built in October of 1990.
It does not have an auto lighter. And I don't think it was made with the possibility of getting an add-on/upgrade to auto light. With that being said, I am thinking of retrofitting one in.
I am going to be using a 12v timer board that will countdown 180 sec from start and output 12v for that time. I am then going to hook up a diesel glowplug into the pellet pot to light the pellets. I am just wondering how much current does a typical glow plug use? I am needing something less than 5amps. If it is more than that I will have to use the 12v to a relay and just use a 120v heating element.

any ideas or thoughts?
