Reading this thread, may make me go check out D2OL again. I was one of the top 3 producers on this project before I left.

Long time no see!

You should sit there and do absolutely nothing right now. Slapstick and I are closing on you fast! 😀 Actually, c'mon back and get into the fray!

I might be putting my whole fleet once it update in few months, I really want to end the climateprediction.net model first cause Im just over the half way and Ive done for a month 🙂. Would be kind of stupid to stop now 😉

I never did get my  when I crossed the 10k mark. Then the new client came out and I never upgraded... Maybe it is a good time to bring it back...

Nope. 🙁 No word from the D2OL folks yet either.

As a test, I figured I'd download the client though, install and see how the client looked/worked/etc... unfortunately, I didn't get very far. 😕

I got it installed, put in my email, and it proceded to download work units - but before it even got to 25 cands, it locked up. Solid. Entire machine frozen! :Q Had to manually reset - CTRL-ALT-DEL wouldn't even work. So, after rebooting, tried again, locked up again! And yet a third time! So I re-booted, un-installed, restored the Registry 😉 , re-booted, re-installed, frozen again.

Thinking it might just be the machine(not likely as it's my gaming rig), I installed on 2 more rigs with the exact same results!! :frown:

All three rigs have different boards, cpus, ram - but do have in common W2K SP4, patched completely current. All have been running SETI 24/7 for several months without incident. Ideas?

I have tried to run a client on a Win2K Pro, SP4 fully patched for 24 hours, no problems.

Ecs K7S5APro, 1600+ 256MB PC133

Hey guys, good to see you all coming back to the project. 😀

As long as you stay under our output, that is 😛

Let's just replay RC5-64 times and let us pass after a good fight

Thats incredible :Q ALL your machines? Maybe you got a corrupt download? Ive been running 2 instances 24/7 on an AMD dually that hasnt locked once and both are on right at 1000 cands each. And this machine was the least reliable of all my dually boards but its been doing great with Win2k SP4 thus far.

No that this helps you much except maybe to indicate it's not the client 😉, I've got it running on ... uhhh... I'm not sure how many PCs... I'd have to check... at least 8 or so, and haven't had a single lockup since I restarted about 10 days ago or so. I VNC through all my machines in the morning to make sure they are still alive (habit) and haven't had to restart any of them! 🙂

I have it running on 13 (I think) machines alone side seti and havent had a problem with any of them that I know of ( running xp pro )
