I've searched this forum as well as the whole internet for information on the "MAG 17" Flat-Panel LCD Monitor" that is being offered at BB this weekend. My son has a flat panel monitor on his Christmas list. He is primarily a gamer. He likes MMORPGS like WOW. Would he be disappointed with THIS monitor?

I'm interested in your opinions.

With 8ms response time it should be fine for gaming. Good luck on getting one. ;)

I don't like how it doesn't have DVI input. Also, ask him about size, I wouldn't be happy with only 17 incher...

We're on a budget here which means some compromises. If I bought him a bigger monitor, it would mean very little else under the Christmas tree. How much difference would DVI mean? There is a DVI output on his vid card.

Wow that is pretty inexpensive. Honestly I think it should be fine for gaming. Almost (if not all) 17" TN panels (like that) are.

DVI doesn't make that much difference on a 17" LCD. Probably none if you have a decent video card. You will need to use your video card's DVI-I->VGA adapter to hook up the LCD.
