Attention Fedora Core 5 got released early (leaked to be more accurate :D)!

The links are what now?

Well the first two that I have posted were temporary and were only for the DVD iso s (x86-64 & i386) and then they were down for a while and slow.

The new ones have the CD iso both i386 and x-86-64 plus the DVD iso again i386 and x86-64.

I was so pissed that Fedora will be released on Monday , because I won't be able to play around with it, nothing beats being able to get on Saturday 😀.

However ppl need to realize, eventhough that these iso s ARE the official iso s and they are the exact ones that will be released tomorrow by the Fedora team , but keep in mind that the yum repo for FC5 are not open for anyone ATM ,so if you get FC5 installed today you will still have to wait till tommorrow to be able to use the yum repos 😉

For me I did an upgrade install so I already had all my apps there for me to use and I can wait a day to use the yum repos.

You can't really 'leak' free software, all you've done is put more load on the main server during the initial mirror process.

I don't get what you say, FC 5 was supposed to be PUBLICLY available the 20th, so what I mean here is that the public has access to it thanks to incorrect server folder permessions on one server, it only took a while after a good group got their hands on the initial files, and then started hosting them on their own mirrors , the links that I am posting are mirrors as you can see.
I think this will drastically decrease the pressure on the Fedora Server and all the secondary mirrors that will host the iso s on Monday the 20th.

The 'good' group still increased load on the official server during the initial mirror process, whether it had any tangible affect or not is hard to tell without having access to the servers. But they had to copy ~14G of data to get all of those ISOs mirrored, if they had a fast enough pipe it's entirely possible that they caused some of the secondary sites mirroring process to be delaye by hours or more. If they really want to help lessen the load on the Fedora servers they should participate in the torrents once they're officially available.

The folks over at fedoraforums.org immediately started making torrents and hosting on seperate FTP's (check the thread you will see a lot of that happened) and I changed the links as soon as I had seperate FTPs available to link to.

So really it's no big deal, still thanks for your support Nothinman.

Sweet...too bad I sold my DVD burner....*sigh*..now back to CDs...I hope I can get wifi workin in this release...I'm gonna test out the look and feel in VMWare first, though...

Dang...the DVD won't even connect with FreshDownload...must have some kinda protection...Regular is fine, but it's gonna take 6 hours...
AamDavid, there is a torrent out for the x86_64 DVD...
http://ts.searching.com/torrent/613834/Fedora_Core_5_x86_64_DVD

It's pretty slow right now...I'm gettin ~64 kb/s...
EDIT: I just killed the torrent and installed Download Accelerator Plus for this, and I'm gettin around 660 KB/s on the x86_64 DVD, that's at 1 hour 20 min left...

I don't think there will be much issues, if it worked for you in fc4/3 then most probably you will have no issues in 5 🙂, BTW what wifi card you have ?

If a certain link / torrent isn't working great for you, go to the link to the thread in my OP, you will see a lot of links and torrents, give those a shot, you might find better links.
The links in my OP are there becasue I was able to download from them and was able to get FC5 installed through them (I have personally used the i-386 CD ISO link )
