yeah you can. we made bread all the time when i was a kid by hand. it just takes time and muscles
 
i saw a guy on tv do it.

put the dry stuff in a pile on a board. then make a whole in the center, like a volcano crater.

put the whet stuff in the crater, then gradually do something until they are all mixed up in a dough ball.
