OK.
I'm looking at buying an RSX-S in a few weeks and want to know how much TTL will cost me. I've gotten a loaded out model down to $23,650 so far. I want to try to get it lower buy getting a loan from the bank or credit union and giving the dealer a check for the full purchase price.

What I really need to know is what the tax rate is on cars. Is it the same as a standard sales tax or is it a different rate. I've tried looking at the Texas tax information on the web but it doesn't say anything usefull.

Anybody a car dealer and can help a fellow ATOTer out?

Tax should be standard state sales tax. Title varies, as does license. In Iowa license and registration are based upon the value of your vehicle. A $25,000 car in Iowa can cost upwards of $350 a year for license.

Some states have a flat fee though.
