howdy.. i ask for a favor from aiw 7500 owners ;)

i'm in market for one.. but i have a question before i hop in..

if you have counter strike game.. could anyone give me FPS at 800x600 1024x768 and 1280x1024 respectably?

it'd be really appreciated if you can do FSAA at 4x w/ aniso filtering on ;)

it's the only game i play and i'm afraid downgrading to aiw7500 from gf3 would give me crappy fps... i get max 99fps w/ gf3..

thanks in advance. :)

Hmmm, I would definately expect poor fps in any recent and demanding 3D game with FSAA and Aniso enabled because the 7500 lacks SmoothVision, it would be like trying to play FSAA on a GeForce2. I have a Radeon 7500, but I don't have CS. Is the 99fps number at 1024x768 w/o FSAA/Aniso? Another issue is that I can't remember if the AIW 7500 has the same core/mem as the 7500. If it does, I would look at Anandtech's Sub-$200 vid card roundup from a few months ago, including the GF3 Ti 200, GF3 and R7500.

If you are worriedabout proformance just get the AIW 8500 I belive it has the same clock speeds as the orgional 8500, unlike the 8500dv which has lower clock speeds.

aiw 7500 has 260mhz core and 180mhz mem ..

99fps i get is w/ QuixFSAA and 64bit aniso on..

Hmmm. I would definately be concerned about performance on the AIW 7500 then:( I would wait for a AIW 7500 owner to comment.

Dangit, here I was hoping for a discussion of the video encoding quality or how well the scheduled record works. I don't get it, seems like those would be the reasons to buy an AIW card, yet reviewers still can't seem to get excited about anything but Q3 benchmarks and then say "oh yeah, the TV stuff is cool too" as if that's only a minimal part of why anyone would buy an AIW.

I want benchmarks on recording at different resolutions and bitrates, not games, for a card who's distinction from
it's brothers are it's video parts.

Any of you guys want to comment on that side of the card? :)
