I have a family friend who is a dealer who lets me go to auctions when I am looking for a car. Decided I want a Nissan Titan but might be swayed for a Tundra if the price is right. 4 door, 4wd, etc. Just sold my 2000 Jetta VR6 GLS 5 speed last night for 2100 so I have about 11k to spend.

He charges me $300.00 for paperwork and a 30 day tag and I can write him a check and drive off the lot. Excited, giddy, and hoping there are a few vehicles out there that pique my interest. Its a fairly limited scope of what I want, and I have ruled out the domestics because they are just not what I want.

starts in a couple hours.... come on time, fly by!

If you get a Titan try and get a 2008+. I had a 2005 and loved it, esp compared to my Ranger now.

You should have the skills to evaluate if there are problems with the vehicle.

There is no such thing as buyer's remorse at an auction

Skills, not a problem. I'm not sure i can afford a 2008 with 11k.

This auction is pretty sweet. You buy the car, then there is an auction guarantee. You can drive it around the auction place, sometimes they let you drive it on a 4 mile track around and then come back and if you want it, great, if not, you get your money back. Its a slick setup. The guy I'm going with also is friends with many of the other dealers since his shop is fairly far away from the others, and they don't bullshit him when he asks what's wrong. My last vehicle, a 97 F150 that I bought there, the guy said straight out, needs this, needs this, oh yeah, needs new exhaust manifold gaskets as some of the studs are broken off in the block, etc. Did the work myself, but it was nice to know what I was going to get into.
