Attempts at OC'ing an Athlon TB 900 to run at 266FSB..

I've been trying to get the FSB up to 266 with no avail. I'm relatively new to the Athlon side of things (I've done many Celery OC's but this is my first Athlon CPU). I thought I had all the L1 leads filled in on the chip (So I can unlock the Multiplier), but when I change the multiplier from 9x100 to 7x133, the machine won't even post. I get no beeps no nothing.

Is the no post symptom a sign that the L1 bridges haven't been filled, or is it possible that I am missing something else??

Thank you for your time..

actually, I have my 800 @ 1000 , with a 10*100 multiplier.
but I tried running it @ 1064 by using 8*133 & it wouldn't even post.

my bridges are VERY well done. I think some older Tbirds can't handle the 133 fsb.
but I could be wrong, just what I've noticed on my machine, which is stable @ 1G, but only with 10*100 multiplier

Tell us about your system, Ranger. I have a TBird 900 running at 7.5x133 on my EPoX 8KTA3. What mobo are you using? On mine there's a jumper to switch between 100-124 FSB and 133-150 FSB.

What motherboard are you using? KT133 motherboards have a hard time getting above 115 in FSB, if you have a KT133a then im stumped.

Sorry.. I should have added that I just picked up the CPU last weekend, and I am using the ABit KT7A-Raid Mobo.. I'll try the bridges for L1 again. Lord knows I am not perfect.. :)

Hmmm.. Just read in another thread that they are using the same setup as I am, but with a running CPU temp of atound 30 to 40C. As I'm writting this I am pushing 50C without doing anything CPU intensive (Unless you consider IE5 a CPU HOG :) I'm using the retail fan/heatsink that comes with the retail box, so mayeb it's time to lap the heatsink and put a new layer of compound down.

Back to the old drawing board I guess..
