Attempting to Power on while CMOS Reset pins are jumpered...

Hrm, well in my frustration to get my motherboard running, I was trying to clear the cmos and turned the power on while I had the jumper on the "clear CMOS" pins (2-3). The computer failed to boot. The fans started spinning but there was no display, so I turned the computer off and placed the jumper back to normal (1-2). The computer booted up normally after that.

Do you think anything was damaged? It doesn't look like it so far, and I was curious if anyone else made the same mistake without problems.

Nope It'll work fine, don't worry about it. Just don't make a habit of it as pumping 12v too often into the flash section of the CMOS can severely affect the memory retaining properties of flash memory.

Oh, that's great to hear. Whew, I thought I might have killed some component on the board and just wasn't noticing it since it appeared to be working fine.

probably not. Like sunnyD said, don't make a habit of it. For that matter, NEVER AGAIN power your computer on with the jumper set. Just check the BIOS, make sure it's reading all the drives and devices properly, no wierd characters, no odd black spaces, things like that. If that's all good, I'd say it's good. You may need to re-flash it about a year earlier than normal (the memory retention thing) but other than that, if it's working now, you're probably good to go.
