Attempting to OC a 1.4 T-bird

I finally have my new set-up all together and working, but I am having trouble overclocking. I have an ASUS A7A266 MB with 512mb. I have read that with this board you can't change the multiplier, so I tried turning up the FSB a little only up to around 1456. When I would do this the system would freeze after about 5-10 minutes of Unreal. I tried turning up the voltage no change. If I turned it back down to 1400 no problems.

Heat doesn't seem to be an issue as the chip rarely sees above 47c and the MB is always around 32c. These temps stay pretty much in the same area whether OC'ing or not. Both temps are after playing Unreal for a while.

I upgraded my PS to a 340 watt unit thinking that combined with the GeForce 2 my system might be drawing more than my 300 watt could supply. Changing made no difference at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also is there a better MB out there for OC'ing the T-bird?

Thanks,
