19yr old driver w/a suspended license. I guess we have some overkill here, at the very least the driver was asking for it.

Michigan huh? I remember growing up outside of Detroit and having a whole homeroom class devoted to the dangers of trains, way back in middle school. I always thought it was sort of a "duh" scenario....

That's not tragic, it's natural selection.

As much as I want to agree, I have to disagree. All five of them were not at the wheel. One kid took the other 4 peoples lives' into his hands. It is tragic indeed.

:(

I beg to differ. Any one of those 4 could've stopped their friend from driving them into death, but they didn't. They probably encouraged the driver to beat the train.

You would think at least one of the four would tell the driver to stop or knock his ass out.

I wonder why I can't conjure up much pity?

I'm sure a few of those kids in the back didn't deserve it, but this is what happens when you try to best a FUCKING TRAIN.

I find it hard to believe that the passengers would have had time to commandeer control of the vehicle from the driver and bring it to a stop before the accident. Chances are the passengers didn't know what was going on til the dumbass pulled around and started through

Very sad story :(

He was probably speeding and couldn't stop the car in time. He went into that intersection pretty fast.

Video here.
They most likely never saw the train and died without even knowing it was about to happen.

You think the lowered crossing gate, flashing lights, and noise would give them a clue.

Whats up with the 14 year old staying overnight at friends houses without telling her parents? Obviously some real bad parenting going on there and some out of control kids. Unfortunately it got them killed.

I know it's "cool" on AT to be an uncaring piece of shit, but FFS 5 people died and only one of them made the decision to try to beat a train.
