I have a motorola cyber surfer.
I connected it to a dlink 704 router.
yesterday night it suddenly could not connect to the internet.
So i pressed the test button, and the led for cable connection flickers 30 seconds, then back to normal. I went to sleep, woke up this morning, same thing.
I called attbi, they said there's no report of outage in my area (Mercer Island, or Seattle).
Is it possible my cable modem is broken?
They give me an appointment, but it's next saturday, i can't wait that long though.

Happens to me on occasion, as well. I live in the south end of Seattle proper. I've got the RCA modem and a pretty bad cable signal - Occasionally it looses "track" of the other end (@Home's words, not mine). The trick is to unplug the modem, REMOVE the Ethernet cable, and then plug in the modem and turn it on. This will force it to do a full resynchroniation. After it's been on for a minute or two, it will be on it's merry way to functionality again and you can reconnect the Ethernet cable. Thus far, it has fixed my connectivity problem every time, save when the service is down.
